Basketball Game Preview: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints vs. Isle of Wight Academy Chargers

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints will venture away from home to take on the Isle of Wight Academy Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Isle of Wight Academy likes a good challenge.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Isle of Wight Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They took down Oaktree Academy 64-49 on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Chargers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. As for Isle of Wight Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Everything went Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's way against Isle of Wight Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, as Nansemond-Suffolk Academy made off with an 86-61 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Isle of Wight Academy's Russ Wells, who posted 22 points.
