Baseball Recap: Oak Park Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Royal, Oak Park was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They skirted past the Windward Wildcats 3-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Henry Rizzotti spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Oak Park's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1-1 (and 4-12 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Oak Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Sater, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Oak Park's victory bumped their record up to 7-13-1. As for Windward, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.

Coming up, Oak Park will square off against de Toledo at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Windward, they will take on Campbell Hall at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
