Basketball Recap: Amahrian Ponton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Franklinton over Riverside-Durham

Franklinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverside-Durham Pirates.

Several Red Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amahrian Ponton, who posted eight points along with five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jayden Bowen, who earned ten points and eight rebounds.

Riverside-Durham's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Taylor, who had 14 points. Robert Mcdonald was another key player, putting up 14 points and six boards.

Franklinton's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Riverside-Durham, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Franklinton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-55 victory against Corinth Holders on the 25th. As for Riverside-Durham, they have also already played their next matchup, a 58-49 win against Person on the 2nd.
