Basketball Recap: Orange County Comes Up Short

Orange County came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 61-35 to the Western Albemarle Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-31 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Orange County lost, don't look at Laney Fayard. Despite the final result, she went 5 for 9 en route to 11 points and five boards. What's more, Fayard also posted a 56% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sydney Hearl, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Orange County's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Western Albemarle, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
