Recap: Jackson County Panthers vs. Gainesville Red Elephants

The Jackson County Panthers fell victim to the Gainesville Red Elephants's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Red Elephants 28-0. It was the first time this season that Jackson County let down their fans at home.

RJ Knapp threw for 110 yards on 11 of 18 attempts. Elijah Ling was his top target, picking up 56 receiving yards. On the ground, Mj Spurlin rushed for 87 yards.

Baxter Wright was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Eric Hart was another key contributor, picking up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Gainesville's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Julius Columbus and Xavier Griffin who racked up four sacks between them.

Jackson County has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Gainesville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Jackson County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gainesville will look to defend their home field on Friday against South Paulding at 7:30 p.m. South Paulding will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Gainesville is ranked 14th).
