Lancaster extended their winning streak to nine on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 17-2 in the process. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Newark Wildcats an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Golden Gales have won 14 matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Newark, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Newark's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Queen, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lancaster will venture away from home to face off against Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Newark, they will head out to square off against Bloom-Carroll at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
