Basketball Game Preview: Portsmouth Patriots vs. West Warwick Wizards

The Portsmouth Patriots will square off against the West Warwick Wizards at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Portsmouth is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Portsmouth is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: St. Mary Academy-Bay View, who was ranked tenth at the time (Portsmouth was ranked seventh). Portsmouth came out on top against St. Mary Academy-Bay View by a score of 45-35 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, West Warwick came up short against Chariho on Tuesday and fell 48-39. The Wizards have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Portsmouth pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points over those games. As for West Warwick, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
