Volleyball Recap: Anthony Wayne Takes a Loss

Anthony Wayne lost against Steele back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Generals took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets. The Generals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Anthony Wayne had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Steele's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joe Penano, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most digs Penano has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Prince Tran, who had 12 digs and three aces.

Anthony Wayne now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Steele, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Anthony Wayne has already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Start on the 22nd. As for Steele, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Avon on the 23rd.
