Softball Recap: Diamond Hill-Jarvis Sets Scoring Season-High Against Eastern Hills

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Diamond Hill-Jarvis). Everything went their way against the Eastern Hills Highlanders on Tuesday as the Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles made off with a 26-12 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Anna Cruz was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February. She was even better at the plate, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those five runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Miriam Franco was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with seven stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Kassandra Moreno, who scored five runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Eastern Hills, their record now sits at 2-4.

Looking ahead, Diamond Hill-Jarvis will face off against Benbrook at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Eastern Hills, they and Southwest will meet in a classic East v. West matchup at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th. Eastern Hills is facing Southwest at the right time seeing as Southwest is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
