Revere had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Beverly Panthers 3-2 on Friday. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Revere had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-11, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Beverly still got an impressive performance from Sophia Balducci, who had 12 digs.

Beverly's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Revere didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Lynn English on the 8th. As for Beverly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Saugus on the 8th.
