Basketball Recap: Morion Mcwhorter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Therrell over Tucker

Therrell lost against Tucker back in December of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers took a 74-60 bruising from the Tigers. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Therrell's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morion McWhorter, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. McWhorter's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Gordon Davis was another key player, putting up 19 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Therrell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Tucker, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Therrell has already played their next game, a 56-49 loss against North Atlanta on the 21st. As for Tucker, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 89-27 victory against Northview on the 18th.
