Softball Recap: Rib Lake Comes Up Short

Rib Lake extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 6-8. They came up short against the Auburndale Eagles, falling 21-7. If the Redmen were looking for revenge after losing 10-4 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tahlia Scheithauer was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

As for Auburndale, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Considering they have won 11 contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Auburndale's side, Daelynn Blomberg was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Blomberg a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Danika Blomberg, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Rib Lake didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-10 victory against Newman Catholic on the 9th. As for Auburndale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-3 defeat against Wittenberg-Birnamwood on the 9th.
