Volleyball Recap: Santaluces Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lake Worth on Tuesday, Santaluces came back down to earth. The Chiefs came up short against the Leonard Lancers on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Chiefs have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-5, 25-14.

Leading Leonard to victory were Victoria Fermin and Ketteline Augustin. Fermin had 23 assists and five aces, while Augustin had seven digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Augustin a new career-high.

Santaluces' loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santaluces is headed away from home for the first time to take on Atlantic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leonard, they will challenge Royal Palm Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
