Recap: Central Jaguars vs. Pensacola Christian Academy Warriors

The Central Jaguars put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 73-52 margin over Pensacola Christian Academy. Given Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Pensacola Christian Academy is ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kaden Ellison continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with 6 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carson Baxley, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.

When it comes to explaining why Pensacola Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Quincy Williams. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with 8 rebounds. The match was Williams' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Day, who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds.

Central pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Pensacola Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will take on Ponce De Leon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ponce De Leon is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Pensacola Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against L.E.A.D. Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully L.E.A.D. Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Monday.
