Baseball Game Preview: Ashland Clockers vs. Dedham Marauders

Ashland is 6-1 against Dedham since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Clockers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Marauders at 4:30 p.m. Dedham took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Ashland, who comes in off a win.

Ashland took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Grafton. The win was some much needed relief for the Clockers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Chris Bratica made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Bratica wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Oliver Laruea, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.

Meanwhile, Dedham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 5-1 to Holliston.

Dedham's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Ashland, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Ashland was able to grind out a solid win over Dedham in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-2. Do the Clockers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Marauders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
