Baseball Recap: Holyoke Takes a Loss

Holyoke had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 1-9 to make it four. They lost 11-0 to the Highland Huskies. The Dragons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Highland, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.

For Highland's part, they let Byron Berkheimer and Kenny Garcia run wild. Berkheimer went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Garcia went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Berkheimer has become a key player for Highland: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-4 otherwise. Rowley McEachron was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Highland beat Holyoke by a score of 28-10 later that day.
