Football Recap: Mission Bay Takes a Loss

Mission Bay suffered their biggest loss since August 22, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cathedral Catholic Dons, falling 27-7. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Dons are ranked 33rd).

Mia Siqueiros threw for 120 yards and one touchdown. Valerie Young was her top target, picking up 69 receiving yards and one TD.

Cathedral Catholic found their leader in sophomore Sabrina Jutronich, who rushed for 27 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 124 yards and one touchdown.

Mission Bay dropped their record down to 10-8-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cathedral Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Mission Bay has already played their next matchup, a 45-6 win against Lincoln on the 23rd. As for Cathedral Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-0 victory against Scripps Ranch on the 18th.
