Recap: Currituck County Knights vs. South Johnston Trojans

With a playoff game on the line, the Currituck County Knights rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against South Johnston by a score of 28-21. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Currituck County was the better team in the second half.

Devin Duke was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 39 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 151 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes.

South Johnston's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Williams, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Riley Adams was another key contributor, throwing for 232 yards and a touchdown.

Currituck County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for South Johnston, they have yet to win a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 6-5 record.

Currituck County will challenge Fike at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fike will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. South Johnston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
