Basketball Game Preview: Linden Tigers vs. Phillipsburg Stateliners

The Linden Tigers will square off against the Phillipsburg Stateliners on Thursday.

Last Thursday, Linden was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-40 to Don Bosco Prep. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Phillipsburg posted their biggest victory since February 8, 2024 on Friday. Everything went their way against Hackettstown as Phillipsburg made off with a 67-43 win.

Phillipsburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. Linden's loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Linden beat Phillipsburg 65-54 in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. Will Linden repeat their success, or does Phillipsburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
