Goddard won the last time they faced Newton and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Goddard Lions walked away with a 46-34 victory over the Newton Railroaders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Goddard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marayah Coleman, who went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That's the most assists Coleman has posted since back in December of 2024. Sariah Potter was another key player, going 5-for-10 on her way to 12 points and eight boards.

Goddard's record now sits at 7-11. As for Newton, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goddard will host Salina Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newton, they will be playing at home against Hutchinson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
