Eldorado is 8-1-1 against Valley since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will face off against the Vikings at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Eldorado is headed out to face Valley after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Golden Eagles walked away with an 8-3 victory over Rio Grande on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Ravens recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Cooper Burak tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nathaniel Jaramillo, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Gonzales, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Valley earned a 5-1 victory over West Mesa on Tuesday.
Marshall Tafoya got the start for Valley and what a start it was: he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Alex Hernandez was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Caden Barth was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Everything went Eldorado's way against Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, as Eldorado made off with a 13-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
