Mildred had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 win over the Carlisle Indians. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Eagles were the better team in the second half.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mildred's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Paxton Southard was the leader with two.
Despite the loss, Carlisle still got an impressive performance from Antonio Ibarra, who threw for 178 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 81.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 66 yards and one touchdown. 96 of Ibarra's passing yards were hauled in by Joseph Mejia, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Mildred's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Carlisle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.
