Robbinsville has gone 7-2 against Hightstown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Ravens will challenge the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Robbinsville was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Cinnaminson.
The result came thanks to Lexi Lopez's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caroline Kapferer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. Lucie Canuso also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Hightstown was able to grind out a solid win over Hillsborough on Thursday, taking the game 7-2.
Kady Olsen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Kayla Horana was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Hayden Bustos was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Hightstown is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Robbinsville, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Robbinsville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hightstown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Robbinsville beat Hightstown 13-8 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Ravens have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
