Volleyball Game Preview: Deuel Cardinals vs. Hamlin Chargers

Deuel hasn't had much luck against Hamlin recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Cardinals will welcome the Chargers at 7:30 p.m.

Deuel came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Roncalli.

Deuel took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-19, 25-22.

Hamlin extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Jayci Trowbridge. The Chargers blew past Britton-Hecla 3-0 last Thursday with plenty of help from Trowbridge, who had 19 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Hamlin was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-7.

Hamlin's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Deuel, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.
