Baseball Recap: Oasis Wins Going Away Against Gateway Charter

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Imagine School at North Port, Oasis was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Gateway Charter Griffins. The Sharks haven't had any issues with the Griffins recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Daniel Merry was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Sean Osborn was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Merry wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Oasis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gateway Charter only managed four hits.

Oasis' victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Gateway Charter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Oasis will host Aubrey Rogers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Sharks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Gateway Charter, they will head out to square off against Golden Gate at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Griffins are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
