Basketball Recap: Parsippany Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Thomas Niedermaier and David Niedermaier

While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, Parsippany was not quite Mountain Lakes's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell to the Mountain Lakes Lakers 50-45. The Redhawks were probably out for revenge after losing 43-40 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Parsippany's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of David Niedermaier, who posted 15 points and seven rebounds, and Thomas Niedermaier, who went 6 for 12 en route to 18 points. Justin Zitelli was another key player, putting up two points along with five boards and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Parsippany and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for Mountain Lakes, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parsippany will venture away from home to face off against Parsippany Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Parsippany is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season. Mountain Lakes has already played their next contest (against Morris Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
