Basketball Recap: Ramona Starts Season with Victory Against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy

Ramona gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy with a sharp 83-61 win. The Rams not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 21st (when they won 73-43).

Ramona's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Garrett Pickens, who almost dropped a triple-double with 26 points, nine boards, and ten assists. That's the most rebounds Pickens has posted since back in January. Tristan Ollarsaba was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 27 points and nine boards.

Coming up, Ramona won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Big Bear at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy, they will square off against Santa Clara at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
