Meanwhile, Richland's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Ryan by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Royals came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Raiders are ranked 580th).

Birdville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1.

Birdville took their victory against Richland when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Does Birdville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Richland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
