Football Recap: Pike County Comes Up Short on the Road Against Houston Academy + How To Watch

Pike County had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 33-32 to the Houston Academy Raiders. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Houston Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wilson Parrish, who picked up 169 receiving yards and four TDs. Those 169 receiving yards gave Parrish a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Judson Bailey, who threw for 218 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt.

Houston Academy's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Pike County and Houston Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Bulldogs will face off against rival Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Houston Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Montgomery Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
