Baseball Game Preview: Mellen Granite Diggers vs. Hurley Northstars

The Mellen Granite Diggers will venture away from home to challenge the Hurley Northstars at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Mellen came up short against Washburn and fell 7-4.

Wright hit Hurley with a six-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Northstars lost 13-6 to the Red Devils.

Mellen's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Hurley, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything went Mellen's way against Hurley in their previous matchup on April 8th, as Mellen made off with a 14-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Granite Diggers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
