Football Recap: Crystal River Comes Up Short

Crystal River extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-3. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Lecanto Panthers. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

As for Lecanto, they now have a winning record of 3-2. They haven't had any issues with Crystal River recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Jt Tipton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 272 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 44 yards and one score. Braylen Moore did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 158 receiving yards.

Looking ahead, Crystal River will welcome Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Lecanto, they will head out on the road to challenge Vanguard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense has only allowed 5.2 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
