Baseball Recap: Iroquois West Comes Up Short

Iroquois West was the 5-1 winner over Watseka when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Iroquois West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Melgoza, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Iroquois West's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Watseka, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-11.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Iroquois West is set to face off against their familiar foe Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Watseka will square off against rival Armstrong at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
