Football Recap: Madison Highland Prep Heat vs. Bisbee Pumas
After flying high against Coronado last Friday, Madison Highland Prep came back down to earth. The Madison Highland Prep Heat were beaten by the Bisbee Pumas 67-7 on Friday. The Heat lost against the Pumas in their previous head to head back in September of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 40-22 score last time.
Jaycob Young threw for 149 yards and a touchdown.
Keandre Howerzyl was his top target, picking up 79 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground,
Nikolas Eamigh rushed for 27 yards.
Bisbee had a senior duo take command as Bryceton Meyer rushed for 114 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries and Sebastian Lopez threw for 168 yards and three touchdowns. Lopez got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible 50 yards. Another player making a difference was Hunter Wright, who picked up 50 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Madison Highland Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Madison Highland Prep will take on NFL Yet Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bisbee, they will challenge Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
