Softball Recap: Morris Central/Edmeston Central's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Morris Central/Edmeston Central dropped their record down to 11-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 13-0 to the Hamilton Emerald Knights. Morris Central/Edmeston Central was red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but Hamilton's pitchers proved too tough.

As for Hamilton, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

For Hamilton's part, the result came thanks to Ellie Freeth's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. Freeth has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hamilton let Chloe LaFrance and Rihana Dye run wild. LaFrance went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Dye went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Dye has posted since back in May of 2024. Katelyn Simpson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs.

As of now, neither Morris Central/Edmeston Central nor Hamilton have any future games scheduled.
