Basketball Recap: Montour Spartans vs. South Allegheny Gladiators
The Montour Spartans won the last time they faced the South Allegheny Gladiators, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Montour walked away with a 60-52 win over the Gladiators. Given Montour's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Gladiators are ranked 97th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jake Wolfe continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points. He hasn't dropped below 21 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Platz, who scored 15 points.
Montour's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for South Allegheny, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
Montour will head out on the road to challenge the Wild Cats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Allegheny has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27. As for South Allegheny, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
