Soccer Recap: Mechanicsburg Takes a Loss

Mechanicsburg fought the good fight in their overtime match against Spring Grove on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mechanicsburg came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Spring Grove are ranked 380th).

Mechanicsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3-2. As for Spring Grove, they moved to 5-9 with that victory, which also ended their five-match losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mechanicsburg will head out to face off against Dallastown at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Spring Grove, they will square off against Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
