Softball Recap: Wood Comes Up Short

Wood fell victim to Pioneer and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 1-0. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Madisyn Farnham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Wood's record is now 14-8. As for Pioneer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wood will challenge Vacaville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pioneer, they will welcome Vintage at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crushers will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
