Basketball Preview: Revere Minutemen vs. Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees
After four games on the road, Revere is heading back home. They will take on the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Revere strolled past the Rough Riders with points to spare, taking the game 53-36.
Meanwhile, Brecksville-Broadview Heights came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Mayfield 63-33 at home. Given Brecksville-Broadview Heights' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Wildcats are ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jessie Zenir, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Ashley Perdion, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perdion has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Brooks, who scored 11 points.
Revere's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
