Football Game Preview: Lake Highlands Wildcats vs. South Grand Prairie Warriors + How To Watch

The Lake Highlands Wildcats will square off against the South Grand Prairie Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Highlands will be strutting in after a win while South Grand Prairie will be coming in after a loss.

Lake Highlands took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over Irving. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six contests by 23 points or more so far this season.

Lake Highlands can attribute much of their success to Mason Spangler, who picked up 54 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Lake Highlands proved: they limited Irving to a paltry 2.5 yards per carry. The Wildcats' ground attack was stronger, having averaged five.

Meanwhile, South Grand Prairie didn't have quite enough to beat Bowie on Thursday and fell 24-21. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lake Highlands pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.7 points on average over those games. As for South Grand Prairie, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.
