Baseball Game Preview: Lynbrook Vikings vs. MacDonald Condor

The Lynbrook Vikings will square off against the MacDonald Condor at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. MacDonald took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lynbrook, who comes in off a win.

Lynbrook took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Monta Vista, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings came out on top in a nail-biter against the Matadors on Tuesday, sneaking past 8-7.

Cameron Chao made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Chao was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Lynbrook is 2-1 when Chao posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-16 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Akira Gok, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Sit, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Lynbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, MacDonald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 14-2 to Cupertino.

Lynbrook's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-17. As for MacDonald, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-20.

Lynbrook took their victory against MacDonald when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Condor have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
