Baseball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin is still winless after their matchup against Amelia County on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Broncos have suffered since May 13, 2025.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Amelia County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Franklin will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Greensville County at 3:00 p.m. As for Amelia County, they will venture away from home to challenge Prince Edward County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.75 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
