Foresthill took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Victory Christian with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildfires as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

Foresthill not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Victory Christian between 17 and 19 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-17.

Meanwhile, John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills didn't have quite enough to beat Western Sierra Collegiate Academy on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolves 25-15 in the first set.

John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills took Western Sierra Collegiate Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking 12-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-19, 25-9, 18-25, 15-3.

Foresthill will have to contain Janae Drummond as she made an impact in John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills' last game. She had 16 digs. Drummond has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times she's played.

John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills' loss ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 19-9. As for Foresthill, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
