Baseball Game Preview: Chavez Titans vs. Corcoran Panthers

Chavez is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Corcoran is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Titans will host the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Chavez 3.9, Corcoran 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Chavez is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Kern Valley get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Jayden Popoy was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Daniel Carrillo was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Corcoran had just enough and edged out McLane 3-1 on Wednesday.

Corcoran is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chavez, their victory bumped their record up to 21-5.

Chavez took their win against Corcoran in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
