Basketball Game Preview: Lynnwood Royals vs. Shorecrest Scots

Lynnwood hasn't had much luck against Shorecrest recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lynnwood Royals will take on the Shorecrest Scots in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with 24 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Lynnwood turned things around against University Prep on Saturday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 65-31 win over the Pumas. Considering the Royals' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Shorecrest put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Mountlake Terrace with a sharp 65-39 victory. That 26 point margin sets a new team best for the Scots this season.

Lynnwood's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Shorecrest, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Lynnwood couldn't quite finish off Shorecrest in their previous matchup back in January and fell 51-49. Can Lynnwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
