Volleyball Recap: Battle Ground Academy Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Battle Ground Academy duked it out with Franklin Road Academy on Thursday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Panthers. The Wildcats have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Battle Ground Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-21.

Franklin Road Academy had a senior duo take command as Savannah Sullivan had 18 digs and two aces and Cheyann Franklin had 12 digs and two aces. Sullivan has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played. Ella Cassel was another key player, getting 15 assists and three digs.

Battle Ground Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Franklin Road Academy, the victory was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3.

Battle Ground Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against University School of Nashville on the 6th. As for Franklin Road Academy, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Davidson Academy on the 6th.
