Basketball Recap: Beecher Comes Up Short

Beecher lost against Bendle back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Beecher Buccaneers fell to the Bendle Tigers 69-63. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bendle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landon Mattis, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Juma Mkakile, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Beecher's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Bendle, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Beecher and Nouvel Catholic Central will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st. Bendle will take on Owosso in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
