Soccer Game Preview: Valencia vs. Golden Valley

The Valencia Vikings will square off against the Golden Valley Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valencia's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Thursday, Valencia and Canyon finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Golden Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Saugus, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 445th, while the Centurions are ranked 176th).

Valencia's draw makes their record 5-5-3 this season. As for Golden Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-2.

Valencia skirted past Golden Valley 2-1 when the teams last played back in January. Does Valencia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Golden Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
