Preview: Silverdale Academy Seahawks vs. Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers
The Silverdale Academy Seahawks will head out on the road to face off against the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Silverdale Academy posted their biggest win since December 4, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Grace Baptist Academy 55-18 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-4.
Silverdale Academy relied on the efforts of Luke Keith, who scored nine points, and Houston Holland, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Boyd-Buchanan scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 78-53 margin over Concord Christian. Given Boyd-Buchanan's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Concord Christian is ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The victory was the third in a row for Silverdale Academy, bringing their record for this year to 20-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Silverdale Academy came up short against Boyd-Buchanan in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 59-48. Can Silverdale Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
