Baseball Recap: Winchester Community Extends Winning Streak to Three

Winchester Community waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Monroe Central Golden Bears 15-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Golden Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Aidan Weatherhead, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Cooper Hummel also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Winchester Community's record is now 11-3. As for Monroe Central, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winchester Community will host Wapahani at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Monroe Central, they will welcome Elwood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Bears are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
