Football Recap: Miller Cardinals vs. Burlington Wildcats
Miller was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 33-20 to the Burlington Wildcats.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nate Hill, who rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 82 yards and a touchdown. Caden Calvin handled things on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Even if they lost, Miller's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 3.5 sacks. Owen Demster was especially locked on to Burlington's QB and sacked him twice.
Burlington had a senior duo take command as Chance Hegg rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns and Brody Anderson gained 211 total yards and two touchdowns. Anderson was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 69 yards.
Miller's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Burlington, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miller will head out to take on Diamond at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Burlington, they will challenge Baldwin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
